I had heard about Emmanuelle Gattuso for a few years before I had the privilege of meeting her. My dear friend Hilary would tell me how fabulous she is, and how no photographer seems to be able to capture her essence, her joie de vivre. When I heard that, I was chomping at the bit to give it a try.

Not long after, Emmanuelle called me to take some updated portraits for her in her Yorkville home, and I was ready. How hard could it be to capture this artistic and vivacious woman?

Turns out, not hard at all. She’s an incredibly charming French Canadian philanthropist, with a warm heart available for photographs. We even brought out her renowned husband Allan Slaight, and photographed the two of them in his Magic Room. (He’s had a life long passion for magic).

A couple of weeks later, I was delighted to see one of our photographs as a half page ad in the Globe and Mail, celebrating their generous 50 million dollar donation to the Princess Margaret Hospital.
